Vincent Price - Biografia

Amerykański aktor filmowy i teatralny, a także pisarz. Ukończył historię sztuki na Uniwersytecie w Yale w 1933. 1933-34 występował w teatrach w Londynie i Nowym Jorku. Na srebrnym ekranie zadebiutował w 1938 rolą w filmie "Service de Lux". Zagrał także m.in. w: "Prywatne życie Elżbiety i Essexa", "Pieśń o Bernadetcie" czy "Dragonwyck". Jednak jego specjalnością były horrory zwłaszcza R. Cormana według opowiadań E.A. Poego tj. "Zagłada domu Uscher" 1960, "Studnia i wahadło" 1961, "Kruk" 1962, "Grobowiec Ligei" 1964. Był prawdziwym Królem Horroru. Idealnie pasował do stworzonej scenerii zazwyczaj starych, przepełnionych grozom domów, których klimat niejednokrotnie potęgowała czarno biała taśma filmowa, i to o właśnie dzięki takim kreacjom już w dzieciństwie pozyskał sobie moja sympatię. Dreszczowce z jego udziałem to jedne z najlepszych, jakie dane mi było obejrzeć.
