Donald Pleasence - Biografia

Donald Pleasence przyszedł na świat 5 października 1919 roku w Worksop (Anglia, Wielka Brytania). Jego ojciec z zawodu był naczelnikiem stacji kolejowej. Pierwsze kroki na deskach teatru zaczął stawiać w 1939 roku, ale wybuch II wojny światowej sprawił, że musiał przerwać karierę aktorską. Niebawem dołączył do Królewskich Sił Powietrznych. Nad terytorium Francji, w czasie jednego z ataków, został zestrzelony samolot, w którym leciał.  Przez rok był przetrzymywany w nazistowskim obozie koncentracyjnym POW. Po zakończeniu wojny postanowił kontynuować karierę aktorską. Wystąpił m.in. w "Wielkiej ucieczce" i kolejnej ekranizacji przygód Jamesa Bonda - "Żyje się tylko dwa razy". Publiczność zapamiętała jego role w horrorach, m.in. "Halloween" Johna Carpentera, gdzie wcielił się w postać doktora Loomisa. Zmarł 2 lutego 1995 roku w wieku 76 lat. Przyczyną śmierci aktora była nieudana operacja serca.
